Southcentral
The South Central Branch was formed during the summer of 2009 in an effort to establish a growing network of resources and educational opportunities for those interested in reducing the environmental impact of buildings from design and construction to occupancy.
Sustainable design and construction is becoming the building industry standard across the nation. Our organization in central Pennsylvania has access to many of the individuals who have help set national standards and trends in their sustainable fields.
The South Central Branch is run by volunteer members. It is groups of our volunteers that provide direction for this organization, support our members (individuals) and sponsors (companies), organize social and educational events, and reach out to help and promote green communities. As an organization, we are strong and effective because of the active volunteers who share the same mission and core values.

Branch Committees
Branch Management Committee:
This committee currently is responsible for the following:
- Providing overall branch leadership and oversight
- Coordinating with and sitting on chapter committees to keep the group informed with chapter policies, procedures and mission
- Upholding guidelines regarding branch operations
Education/Programs Committee:
- Establish, coordinate and facilitate educational programs through out the year that meet a broad range of membership and community needs
- Publish an annual calendar of educational programs
- Provide high quality educational events to meet minimal requirements for credits under AIA/CES and LEED continuing educational credits
- Identify and facilitate training and exam preparation classes in support various green programs and initiatives
- Collect, create, and disseminate information that enhances general public knowledge of green design principles and encourages an improved, sustainable built environment
Annual Event Committee:
This committee reports to the Membership committee.
